…letters are on their way!
The majority of our decision letters left the office yesterday afternoon via the U.S. Postal Service. All letters will be sent in time to meet our April 1 notification deadline, but we wanted to get the bulk of them out as soon as possible. Pictures are below!
In answer to the many questions that I’m sure are flooding lots of minds right now: No, we do not notify in any other fashion – you have to wait until you receive that hard-copy letter. We do not give notifications online or over the phone. If we get to April 2 and you haven’t received anything, please contact us at that point in time to check in. No, we can’t predict when you’ll get your letter – once they leave our office, they’re in the hands of the USPS. They tend to hit closer locations sooner (some Virginians might see their letters today, Pennsylvanians tomorrow, and so forth).
We had another highly competitive year in applications, and our decisions as always were very difficult to reach. We always have many more qualified applicants than we have space for in our first-year class. For those who are offered a spot on the wait list, I’ll be posting some more information within the next few days, so check back.
Congratulations to all admitted students!!

Will International students receive decisions by e-mail?
Yes, international students will receive decisions by e-mail in addition to postal mail, since the wait time is much longer for postal mail internationally.
Will transfer students receive decission by e-mail or mail? Will it be on April 1st or April 15?
Transfer students will receive decisions by postal mail only, around the April 15 notification deadline.
have you already sent international decision by email and postal mail?
Yes, international decisions have been sent by e-mail and postal mail.
I don’t receive any email in my box.I’ve applied from Benin, i also aplly for bonner program
Will i wait for long time?
I am a transfer applicant living in Richmond; It is my understanding that transfer decisions were mailed on Friday 4/10, should I be worried that I still have yet to receive mine??? Thanks.
Jason (and all transfer applicants),
We began to mail transfer decisions on April 10, but not all were mailed on that date. We are still in the process of mailing transfer decisions for those students who applied by the priority February 15 deadline.
Does it mean that international students will be notified earlier than US students?
Not necessarily, D.K. It depends on what date we send international e-mails. But keep in mind that this post is from last year, 2009… we still have a month to go before our 2010 decisions are ready.
